Prayer Guide for the Week of 02/08

Below are this week’s prayer focuses.

Thursday, February 8

Because we want to be a people who truly pray, “hallowed be Your name” and “Your kingdom come” (Matthew 6:9-10), ask God to align the desires of our hearts with the desires of His heart.

Friday, February 9

Ask God to open a door for our church to be able to gather in a place where our gospel can be lived out and transformative to the surrounding community.  Pray for potential partnerships.

Saturday, February 10

Pray for the G family as they to prepare to take the gospel to SE Asia.

**This month we’re writing encouraging notes and prayers in a Bible that we’re going to give to the G’s in March.  So as you pray, as the Holy Spirit brings to your mind certain Scriptures or words, make a note of them so that you can write these things in their Bible on Sunday.

Sunday, February 11

Hebrews 10:24 calls us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.”  Ask God to renew our attitudes, so that, when we gather together with our church family, we intend to spur others on, and not simply to be entertained or fed.  If perhaps you feel that you’re doing lots with little results; ask God to, through His Spirit, use your words and actions to bear fruit in the lives of others.

Monday, February 12

Like what is described in Psalm 78:5-7, pray that the children in our church would come to a place where they’re able to “set their hope in God.”  Pray that what they learn now—from their parents and their teachers—would be laying the groundwork for a mature faith.

Tuesday, February 13

Ask God to place us in situations this month where questions get asked that lead to conversations about Jesus.  Pray that when this happens the Holy Spirit would free us from anxiety and give us the words to say.

Wednesday, February 14

Spend some time acknowledging the many ways in which you are dependent on God (Matthew 6:11-13), then pray for any needs that are troubling you.  Recall ways in which God has been faithful in meeting your past needs and remember that He is able to take care of your present and future needs.  Thank Him for this.
