Prayer Guide for the Week of 02/15

Below are this week’s prayer focuses.

Thursday, February 15

Romans 12:1-8 teaches us that we're to serve God and others motivated by the grace that He has shown us.  Spend some time reflecting on and thanking God for His grace, then ask Him to make us into a people who truly worship—offer up to Him the whole of our lives—in response to what He's done for us.

Friday, February 16

Using the imagery from Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:14-19, pray things like this for our church:

  • Grow us in our faith and make us like a body growing stronger (16).
  • Don’t let us remain like weakly grounded saplings that are susceptible to disease and drought, and are easily blown over. Make us like firmly rooted and grounded trees (17).
  • Don’t let us be satisfied with just a little bit of fullness in our cup. Fill us to the brim with You and make us desperate for more (19).

Saturday, February 17

Pray for the G family as they to prepare to take the gospel to SE Asia.

**This month we’re writing encouraging notes and prayers in a Bible that we’re going to give to the G’s in March.  So as you pray, as the Holy Spirit brings to your mind certain Scriptures or words, make a note of them so that you can write these things in their Bible on Sunday.

Sunday, February 18

Ask God to open a door for our church to be able to gather in a place where our gospel can be lived out and transformative to the surrounding community.  Pray for potential partnerships.

Monday, February 19

Ask God to increase our dependence upon Him in every area of our lives, so that we can be a people who continually live by faith and continually trust Him for empowerment.  Confess areas of your life where you are not completely trusting Him, and surrender these parts of your life to Him.

Tuesday, February 20

Ask God to place us in situations this month where questions get asked that lead to conversations about Jesus.  Pray that when this happens the Holy Spirit would free us from anxiety and give us the words to say.

Wednesday, February 21

Remember that through faith in Jesus, you have been made righteous.  Thank God for this and thank Him for making your brothers and sisters in Christ righteous too.  Pray that, as a church, we would never stop being amazed by His incredible grace.
