Prayer Focuses for 04/19-04/25

Below are this week's prayer focuses.

Thursday, April 19

Because we want to be a people who truly pray, “hallowed be Your name” and “Your kingdom come” (Matthew 6:9-10), ask God to align the desires of our hearts with the desires of His heart.

Friday, April 20

Ask God to place us in situations where questions get asked that lead to conversations about Jesus. Pray that when this happens the Holy Spirit would free us from anxiety and give us the words to say.

Saturday, April 21

Pray for the G family.

  • Pray for a young man they’ve met named Aaron. His mother is sick and in the hospital, and Clint and Kelsey are trying to be there for him in this difficult time.  Pray for God to heal Aaron’s mother, and pray for the Lord to use this situation to show this family His love and save them.
  • Pray also for the G’s as they begin language school. Pray for God to make learning the language easy so that they can better live, speak, and serve as the presence of Christ in their city.

Sunday, April 22

Spiritual gifts help us build each other up (Ephesians 4:16). Ask God to give us specific spiritual giftings for growing and building up our church. Pray that those who are on the fringes of church life would come to see the essential role they can play.

Monday, April 23

Pray for someone in your City Group who you do not know very well, then prayerfully think through practical ways that you can get to know them better.

Tuesday, April 24

Ask God to make us a people who delight in Him as the greatest treasure of all.

Wednesday, April 25

Spend some time acknowledging the many ways in which you are dependent on God (Matthew 6:11-13), then pray for any needs that are troubling you. Recall ways in which God has been faithful in meeting your past needs and remember that He is able to take care of your present and future needs. Thank Him for this.
