Prayer Focuses for 04/12-04/18

Revelation 2 and 3 contains Jesus’ words to 7 churches in first-century Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey).  They were not written to us, but they are for us because as the Word of God these letters speak to churches of all ages.  This week, we encourage you to read and pray through these chapters, asking God to bring revival to our church.

Thursday, April 12

Ask God to show us areas where Jesus is not our top priority, and to enable us to love Him more (2:1-7). 

Friday, April 13

Ask God to give us the strength to live faithful lives with Jesus as Lord no matter what our circumstances are (2:8-11). 

Saturday, April 14

Ask God to convict us of our sin. Ask Him to remind us how dangerous it is for a church to tolerate sin and false doctrine, and how good it is for a church to follow Him by walking in His ways (2:12-17). 

Sunday, April 15

Ask God to make us more like Him (holy) by dealing with any immorality that might be in our church. Ask Him to empower us to live pure lives that attest to the power of the gospel (2:18-29). 

Monday, April 16

Ask God to convict us of areas in our lives where we are simply going through the motions, and to give us desire and delight for pursuing Him in all of life (3:1-7). 

Tuesday, April 17

Ask God to remind us that Jesus is better than anything this world has to offer. Ask Him to use this truth to spur us on to follow Him by obeying His word (3:7-13). 

Wednesday, April 18

Thank God for this truth, He is gracious. When we wander away from Him, He stands ready to forgive us and use us. Ask Him to make us a people who live in the light of this gospel truth (3:14-22).
